a series of moments...

“Babe?” "Yea?" “Let’s write a blog to document our first year of marriage.” [insert sound of crickets]“Ok.” “YESSSS!”
I don’t like to journal. My friend pointed this out to me, and it got me thinking. What is it about being married that causes my fingers to suddenly itch for the keyboard? Perhaps it is because we want to remember all of our failures and triumphs as we forge a path in this world as a team. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed at the idea of spending my entire life with one person. In these times, DJ says, “just try and get through each moment, and then each moment becomes a day, and then each day becomes a week, and so on. Marriage is a series of little moments.” He is so smart. One reason I married him. So we will give this a try, and see what becomes of it. If nothing else, he and I can look back on it a couple years from now and laugh at the absurd, gooberish, tender moments that have made up our marriage. -Mrs. P

As you embark on this quest into the minds of two self proclaimed oddballs who just so happened to find themselves among a sea of other oddballs. Please remember to bring a road map, as I tend to make some wild turns into "random analogy lane" and "umm, that was an odd metaphor place." I was struggling with agreeing to this idea until we were privileged to hang out with another married couple that was going through some of the exact same little battles. This made me realize that we are not alone in these problems, and we can all learn from each other. There is nothing new under the sun so lets expose and tan up some of the paler sides of "the marriage integration" while at the same time making fun of the situation. Because we all have to stop and remember, "hey, life is a series of moments that we should try to make the best of, even when all you can do is cling to God for strength."  We are hoping that our humor and discoveries will provide entertainment and hopefully some conversation starters to the married and unmarried.  - Mr. P
